The First Acre is the newest home in our small riverfront collection—a freshly updated, single-level home on its own private acre, and the first house on a quiet road that ends a few hundred feet on at our other home, The Last Acre. The grounds are the real surprise. Decades-old maples, blue spruce, and birch shade a manicured lawn, flower beds bloom through the summer, and the whole acre feels less like a backyard than a private park. The lawn sweeps from the back deck down to the Whitefish River, where the water drifts past under a row of old willows. Wade in, drop a line, or float a tube from your own bank—the resident ducks come with the place. Inside is easy to settle into: • Two bedrooms (one queen each) plus a separate rec room with a TV—room to spread out • One full bathroom • Eat-in kitchen with full-size stainless appliances, stocked to the same standard as The Last Acre • Living room and a separate rec room for downtime • Fast internet—good enough for a full workday • All on one level, with a ramp to the front door and no interior stairs Outside: • A full private acre of lawn and mature trees • Back deck with outdoor seating and a grill • Direct, private Whitefish River frontage • Free parking on the property, with room for a trailer or gear The location feels tucked away without being remote: 10 minutes to Glacier Park International Airport, 15 to downtown Kalispell, 20 to Whitefish, 25 to Flathead Lake, and 30–45 minutes to the West entrance of Glacier National Park.
